Meet Your Riddle Community Coordinator

Hi Sarah! Give us a little introduction—who are you, and what’s your connection to Riddle?

My husband and I spent our childhood in a small, rural town in Josephine County, OR that was a lot like Riddle. After he retired from the Army, we wanted to raise our family in a small town as well and decided to settle in Riddle. The tight-knit community welcomed us like family and made us feel at home.

In addition to being the Community Coordinator for the Riddle Schoolyard Project, I work part time doing reports and data management for Riddle School District and am the Project Manager for Riddle Roots Community Projects, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing the greater Riddle area.

What’s your favorite thing about Riddle?

My favorite thing about Riddle is our community. Being part of the community here in Riddle is like being a member of a big, caring family.

How’d you get connected to this particular project?

Dave Gianotti, Riddle School District’s Superintendent, asked me to be the Community Coordinator and help make this wonderful project happen for our great community.

Why are you passionate about getting a Community Schoolyard built in Riddle?

I am passionate about getting a Community Schoolyard built in Riddle because it will create a safe, fun place for our community to be active together outdoors. Now more than ever, it’s important for communities to have social and outdoor spaces that are engaging and exciting enough to overcome the strong draw of hyper-stimulating video games and screens. I believe the Riddle Community Schoolyard will be such a place and am thrilled to be a part of it!

Last but not least, what’s something that’s bringing you joy these days?

Being of service to my family and community is my true purpose and greatest joy! I also enjoy nutrition focused cooking with whole foods, family game nights, antique and thrift shopping, interior design, playing fetch with my sweet dog CoCo, and being in nature.
