Building a Community Schoolyard
Community Selection
Using environmental, education, health, and climate data, the potential for a community schoolyard was identified throughout rural Oregon.
7. Activation
Final celebration and site activation will take place upon project completion!
2. Engagement
Engagement is integral throughout the Community Schoolyard building process to ensure the project addresses the communities priorities and needs.
3. Partnering
A core partner group will be created to help guide the project through local efforts in design, funding, permitting, construction, and outreach.
4. Fundraising
Funding will be lead, obtained and managed through the Oregon Rural Community Schoolyards Program in collaboration with community partners.
5. Design
A professional design team will facilitate participatory design events/workshops within the school and the community, where students and residents will lead.
6. Construction
Bidding, professional contracting, and construction oversight will be provided through the Oregon Rural Community Schoolyards Program.
