Madras Schoolyard Update
Hi Friends,
I hope you and yours are staying warm, avoiding getting (too) sick, and looking forward to the holiday season! With less than a month to go in 2023, I've got a Madras Elementary Schoolyard update to share before the calendar turns.
Classroom Coin Drive
In November, we launched a coin drive in collaboration with the new Madras Elementary School Principal Bendele. The students raised 100 bucks or 10,000 pennies! All classrooms were involved in the drive, and the students were motivated to support their playground.
GoFundMe Wrap Up
Our GoFundMe campaign is at a total of $4,240. Most exciting is that our money came from 30 individual donors, which means that we've had more than 150 individuals donate to the project between this and the classroom fundraiser. Great work! Fundraising Goal
Between local, state, and national fundraising efforts, we are now over halfway through our fundraising goal! This is where we really pick up steam to get to the finish line. Thank you all for sharing these efforts.
My Changing Role
Willamette Partnership was funded to support Amanda and her team at TPL through the initial community engagement/design phase of this work. Now that we've made it through the project's planning phase, my particular role will be phasing out. Also, I'm having a baby in a few weeks! I'll still be around occasionally next year, but as we look toward construction and final fundraising, Amanda, Ashley, and Jamie will lead the charge. I'll pop up sometimes, but it will be in a significantly reduced role. It's been such an honor to get to know and work with all of you these last couple of years, and I'm excited to see where this project goes in the years ahead!
